Potassium Stearate

Potassium stearate is used as a thickener in cleansing lotions and shampoos . It is a gelling agent for some oil type cosmetics , thickened perfumed oils or colonges.
It is also used in the production of insoluble metallic stearates by double decomposition method .
This chemical is an emulsifier in the polymerization of butadiene and such polymerisable compounds as acrylonitrile ; styrene ; acrylic esters & the like , to produce synthetic rubbers.
Potassium stearate is also a catalyst in the manufacture of mono & diglycerides.
